The MVSD is creating our Portrait of a Graduate. Julie Regimbal, MVSD Superintendent, explains this as coming together as a district to create “A shared set of values that you can carry around with you…like the lens through which we see everything.”
To do this, a team of 14 students and 13 adults have started the process! This team is representative of our towns (Swanton, Mississqoi, Highgate) and people who hold a mix of roles within our district (students, parents, teachers, administrators, School Board members).
Ms. Regimbal further explains why she believes in this process: “I could just sit down and pick out things that I think are important, maybe share them with a few other principals…and we could come up with something, but it wouldn’t be meaningful, the process itself, and the fact that there’s such student voice in this process, then that makes it all the more powerful.”
The team has been meeting on zoom to lay the groundwork for what this work will look like, how we will be engaging our community together to shape these values. Stay Tuned! Here is Update 1, A conversation between 2 MVSD students, Lily Berard and Grace Cadieux, and Julie Regimbal.
