The Missisquoi Valley School District Board has developed a revised fiscal year 2027 budget following March's failed vote. Through staffing efficiencies, contract savings, and strategic use of federal grants, the district has trimmed net education spending by $572,000, bringing the projected per-pupil cost to $12,173 — lower than the current year. Property tax rates are projected to decrease in Franklin ($0.03), Highgate ($0.04), and Swanton ($0.01) after the Common Level of Appraisal adjustment.
